FALLIN SKY

Since the dawn of time, our ancestors have looked up and gazed at the stars for signs and answers. The skies we have watched for centuries have now changed, preserving and protecting their enchantment, but denying us our desires.

Space pollution, often overlooked, is a critical problem affecting the entire world. Our digital and immersive work, titled "Fallin' Sky," is designed to bring attention to this global concern.

So, what exactly is space pollution? It manifests as a space graveyard surrounding Earth, comprised of defunct satellites and tangible debris that continually "sails" around our planet. According to NASA, an average of one piece of debris has fallen to Earth every day for the past 50 years.

"Fallin' Sky" is a work of generative graphics and data visualization aimed at raising awareness about the current state of space pollution. The project is developed by WÖA Creative Company, with scientific support from researchers at INAF, Maurizio Pajola, and Alice Lucchetti.
